Welcome to Reset Magazine, an online publication which questions the idea of ‘normal’ as it lived and breathed before the pandemic.
COVID-19 has exposed the fault-lines in our society.
It laid bare the social and economic inequalities of racism. The lack of policy and planning for those vulnerable to abuse was evident. The entire philanthropy system matured at light speed to fill in the structural inequalities that used to be…normal.
But along with the bad came the good. Mutual aid communities sprung up all across to illustrate humanity and its kindness. It provided an impetus for positive changes to the most ingrained relics of our society.
The magazine will look at why and how the world, society, and our local community have changed to survive both COVID-19 and the truths it leaves behind. In this new world, what does it mean to press Reset?
The Reset Magazine staff is made up of students on the postgraduate International Journalism course at City, University of London.
